Elizabeth A. Starrs

Elizabeth Starrs is one of the most experienced and respected civil trial lawyers in Colorado. She is the Past President of the Colorado Bar Association (2006-2007), providing leadership to more than 15,000 Colorado lawyers. She also is a Past President of the Denver Bar Association (2002-2003). She is listed in Colorado Super Super Lawyers® as one of the Top Ten Lawyers in Colorado.
Ms. Starrs is the first Colorado woman to be inducted into the prestigious International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and only the third Colorado woman to become a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. She has the distinction of having tried more legal malpractice cases than any other lawyer in Colorado. She has also tried numerous medical malpractice cases and was part of the team that successfully defended Colorado's first defective breast implant trial. Moreover, she has tried employment cases involving well-known and high profile companies and individuals. She is an Advocate Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and was President of the Colorado Chapter in 2007. Ms. Starrs' practice extends to the arbitration and mediation of all sorts of civil disputes, including business, contract, employment, shareholder fraud, and healthcare. She is an approved mediator and arbitrator by the American Arbitration Association.
In 2009, Ms. Starrs received the Colorado Women's Bar Association's Mary Lathrop Award, the organization’s highest honor. In 2006, the Colorado Women’s Bar Foundation honored her with its first “Raising the Bar” award.
In 2006, Ms. Starrs was named as a “Colorado Super Lawyer®" in the area of business litigation in the inaugural edition of Colorado Super Lawyers® and she has been listed as a Colorado Super Lawyer® in every year since its inception. She also always has been ranked as one of the Top 25 Women Lawyers in Colorado every year since 2007, and since 2008 she has been listed as one of the Top 50 lawyers in Colorado in any area of practice. In 2011 and 2012, she is listed as one of Colorado Super Lawyer’s® Top 10 lawyers. She is listed among the Best Lawyers in America. She is rated AV® Preeminent™ and 5.0 out of 5.0 by Martindale-Hubbell, and is rated 10.0 out of 10 Superb by Avvo.com.
Ms. Starrs has been a practicing attorney since 1980, and she is admitted to practice in both Colorado and Massachusetts. She has recently represented, or is currently representing, clients in courts in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah.
